Who is Linda Seidel?

linda-headshot

Pioneer, Makeup Artist, Author, Educator and Aesthetic Rehabilitation Specialist — Linda Seidel is all of these. For those who have witnessed her in action, what ultimately impresses them about Linda is the compassion and determination embodied in the help she gives her clients.

Through innovative application techniques, specialized cosmetic products and a humanitarian approach to business, Linda has personally transformed the daily lives of thousands of women, children, and men over the last thirty years.

Her unique approach to corrective/camouflage makeup has been recognized and applauded by medical professionals, the cosmetics industry, the media, and most of all, by her clients. “My work is about transformation and what happens on the outside,” Linda says. “But I’ve come to realize that the real benefit to my clients is the transformation that takes place on the inside. When you give someone the means to change something they dislike about their appearance, it doesn’t just change the way they look, it changes how they look at themselves.”

When she first began her work in 1974, the corrective/camouflage makeup industry was non-existent. The cosmetics industry focused on glamour, but Linda developed her own techniques and products to help the clients who were referred to her with the most challenging skin conditions — trauma survivors, children with congenital birth defects, medical patients with severe post-surgical bruising, and others with vitiligo, lupus, and hyperpigmentation to name a few. “These clients were looking for a way to normalize their appearance; to be recognized for who they were on the inside, not judged for how they looked on the outside. Corrective/camouflage makeup was the tool to help them blend into society.”

Over the years, a great deal of publicity has been generated for Linda by the inspiring, triumphant stories of her clients. “From my first interview with Oprah Winfrey in Baltimore, to my first national magazine article in Family Circle, to the Sally Jessy Raphael Show and People Magazine — it has been my pleasure to introduce the world to people who, with a little help from corrective/camouflage makeup, have gone on to fulfill their dreams.”

The emotional transformations resulting from the use of corrective/camouflage makeup are nothing short of miraculous. Young or old, male or female, in the United States or abroad, their expressions are the same — a special glow of confidence, a parent’s tears of joy, or a simple smile of satisfaction.
