How to Use Natural Cover

A small amount of Natural Cover (about the size of a pea) will provide adequate, even coverage for most faces! Gradually add more Natural Cover until you achieve the coverage you desire.Be sure to apply Performing Powder to the entire Natural Cover surface evenly and completely by pressing the puff against your skin, overlapping each press of the puff. Don’t twist or slide the puff. Your skin should feel soft and dry to the touch. If it feels moist or damp, add more powder.
The buildup of dead flaky skin cells can cause your foundation to look “cakey.” Exfoliation removes dead skin cells so you’ll get the best results from your foundation. Masks and scrubs are easy ways to exfoliate your skin everyday.
Step 1: Moisturize and Prepare your skin
Our Moisturizer is an ideal formulation to hydrate your skin before applying Natural Cover. Squeeze out a small amount and gently massage into your skin. Wait a few seconds to allow the moisturizer to be completely absorbed into the skin before you apply your foundation. If you have very oily skin, you may choose to omit the moisturizer completely.
Step 2: Select and Test your shade
If you will be using Natural Cover to conceal a specific skin discoloration, match your shade to the skin surrounding the area you want to conceal. To use Natural Cover as an all over foundation, match your shade to the color of your neck by applying it along the jaw line to test.
Step 3: Application Techniques
You can apply Natural Cover using two different techniques. The amount of Natural Cover you need is determined by the size and degree of discoloration you wish to conceal. Remember, Natural Cover is concentrated, so a very small amount goes a long way.
- Technique 1: Dot & BlendTo spot cover a specific discoloration, dot a small amount of Natural Cover on and around the discoloration. Using short strokes, blend it out evenly about an inch in all directions. If necessary, apply more Natural Cover directly on the discoloration, lightly pat and dab until the area is completely concealed. If you will be using Natural Cover as an all over foundation, dot it all over your face and blend it out to a smooth, even layer with your fingertips. For more coverage, add more dots.
- Technique 2: Direct Sponge ApplicationFor the lightest application of Natural Cover, dot it on with your fingertip and blend it out with your sponge. The sponge will leave the lightest application of Natural Cover on your skin. You may also use the sponge to even out the texture where you have large pores or fine lines.
Use just one technique or a combination of the two to achieve a flawless, natural looking complexion!
Step 4: Performing Powder
Performing Powder is the secret to Natural Cover’s great performance. It blossoms the color and bonds with Natural Cover to create a silky, smooth, natural looking surface that is 100% waterproof and will last all day.
First remove the protective seal from the plastic sifter. Tap some of the powder onto a clean tissue and pick up a generous amount on the puff. Apply it by pressing on an even layer all over the Natural Cover surface. Don’t twist or slide the puff. Continue pressing the puff over the entire area, overlapping each press of the puff - wherever Natural Cover has been applied. Natural Cover will absorb the powder and your skin should feel silky, smooth and dry to the touch. Go back and apply more to any areas that feel moist. Don’t miss a spot! You may brush away any excess powder using a soft brush.
Step 5: Removing Natural Cover
When you’re ready to remove your makeup, simply wash your face with a good skin cleansing bar or lotion. Avoid using any harsh detergents that can strip natural oil from the skin leaving it feeling tight and dry - we recommend our Lathering Citrus Wash as an ideal cleanser. You may want to use a special cleansing cloth or makeup removal pads, as Natural Cover may stain facecloths or towels.
